VERY RARE Taiwanese Pirated "First Edition". There is some debate as to whether this is a Taiwanese Pirated Edition or a Chinese Pirated Edition. The general consensus is that this is most likely the Taiwanese Edition but we have not been able to categorically verify that belief. Either way, this copy is most assuredly a Pirated "First Edition".

Scarce and Highly Desirable for collectors of the book or film! Is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title!

This is a Pirated "First Edition". Pirated Editions are, essentially, books created without the authorization of the original author and/or publisher. When we refer to pirate editions we are often discussing those created in Taiwan-IOBA. Pirated "First Editions" differ greatly from TRUE Firsts in a myriad of significant ways, principal among them the cheap materials used in the construction of the book, the boards, the paper, the dust jacket etc. , the size of the book, the lack of info on the spine of the boards and so on.

The world of Pirated "First Editions" is a rather fascinating one and if you're interested in learning more we suggest reading Hugh Stephens Blog which can be easily found on the official Independent Online Booksellers Association website. Hardcover with its original, poorly made dust jacket, NOT price-clipped! No official publisher is listed and/or verified. The TRUE First was published by Doubleday and contained the gutter code of "044". This copy has the date of "1974" but even that cannot be verified though we believe this copy was most likely published during that year or sometime in the 1970's.

Once again, we want to repeat that this is NOT the First Edition/First Printing of this title! If interested, we do have a TRUE First currently up for sale. It's in rather poor condition but it is a TRUE First. Please feel free to message us for more info regarding that copy. This rare treasure has some VERY clearly visible wear, but when considering its' scarcity and desirability, is still in Highly Collectible condition!

The wear, however, is considerable and should be carefully examined/considered. The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris. The binding, which was poorly constructed, is still holding tight and firm. All of the pages are present, fully attached and still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with creases/wear to the spine/corners/boards and creases/marks/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text!

Please note the wear to the pages! The pages have a warped/wavy appearance, common with pirated editions, due in large part to the inexpensive paper used in their construction. The creases are numerous and considerable. All of the wear previously mentioned is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. The original dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped but the cheap, flimsy material used can be both seen and felt. Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, rips and marks. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book.

We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear to both the book and the dust jacket is considerable and VERY clearly visible!
