Up for sale is a Very Rare, Second Printing of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. A 20th Century Classic, Second Printings of this Title are Scarce and Becoming Exceedingly Hard to Find! This is an attractive option for collectors who desire a very rare, valuable Second Printing while avoiding the exorbitant cost of a First Printing. For those not familiar with what a facsimile dust jacket is, essentially, it is a high quality replica of the First State dust jacket.

Facsimile dust jackets are desirable for two reasons. One, they add quite a bit of aesthetic value to the book. When displayed, they offer a lovely visual! Two, they offer some important protection to the book itself. When handled, the dust jacket will help to protect this rare treasure.

For added protection and increased beauty relating to the appearance, this facsimile dust jacket has been encased in a brand new, removable, museum quality Brodart dust jacket protector! Once again, we want to reiterate that this dust jacket is a facsimile. A gorgeous reproduction of the First State dust jacket. It is NOT an original dust jacket!

It is NOT the dust jacket that was first issued with this book. It is strictly for display purposes, aesthetic value and added protection.

Sadly, it's in rather poor condition but it is a TRUE First/First with its' original, First State dust jacket. This rare treasure has some clearly visible wear/age, but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The book appears gently read and has no internal writing, no internal foxing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf/age wear along with.. Wear to the binding with some visual separation at the top edge. The binding feels shaky/loose and the book should be handled with care.

All of the pages are present and fully attached and the binding is still holding tight, but one can clearly see some separation at the top edge of the spine. Creases/marks/scuffing to the spine and boards. The wear is particularly noticeable near/along the edges and on the rear board. Please note the scuffing/wear near/along the edges of the boards and the large marks on the rear board!

Marks/wear to the edge/fore pages. The wear is particularly noticeable on the top and bottom edge pages. Thankfully, the wear isn't terribly egregious and does not affect the text, but the creases/wear has resulted in a very noticeable "wavy" appearance to the pages. The wear is still very clearly visible!

The facsimile dust jacket is brand new so it's in wonderful condition. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. We are only allowed to post twelve pictures so if you would like more photos, no problem!
