VERY RARE Vintage 1930s Merrythought 18 Felt Fabric Doll'Emily' Ltd Edition

  

A boxed Merrythought "Emily" fully jointed limited edition collectors felt doll (No 47/500). This gorgeous blonde girl is extremely rare. She dates from between 1933 - 1950 when Merrythought ended their doll production.

She is a limited edition No 47 out of only 500 & is in pristine, virtually new condition in her original box! An EXTREMELY RARE and wonderful doll from a bygone era. Merrythought have always made Teddy Bears & Animals. Dolls were not their main product & so are few & far between. Merrythought was established in 1930 at Ironbridge, Shropshire and In 1933 dolls were added to the production line.

But by the 1950s dolls were not as important and animals once again took centre stage, particularly pyjama cases.
