This is a genuine, limited-run Lightning Ridge Monopoly board game, created to celebrate the world-famous Opal mining town of Lightning Ridge, NSW Australia. Factory sealed - never opened? These games were produced in very limited numbers, making sealed examples with certificates increasingly hard to find. Regional themed Monopoly runs usually only produce between1000 to 3000 units as a commission and this particular Monopoly was created between 2021- 2022 and released on Easter Sunday 2022 with there being no evidence of a second release run, making this item very rare. The creator behind this edition was Glenda Parlett (a Lightning Ridge local) - Lightning ridge became known worldwide following the hit Discovery TV series Outback Opal Hunters. This edition is treated worldwide as a rare collector's and an investment item. Box in excellent collector condition. Certificate of Authenticity included (numbered 0265).
