Up for sale is a Very Rare, TRUE First Canadian Edition/First Printing of The Hollow by Agatha Christie. A TRUE First Canadian Edition with ALL First Edition Points Present!

This edition, the First Canadian Edition, was published in 1946 and is very special in that uses the Collins brand but is essentially identical to the U. Version which was published by Dodd Mead. With an unusually small initial printing, TRUE Canadian Firsts are quite scarce and increasingly hard to find! Hardcover with its original boards.

Gold lettering on the front cover and spine. The lettering/color on the spine is faded and hard to read but is still impressive and vibrant on the front board. Issued with a jacket but the jacket is no longer present. Published by Collins: 70 Bond Street Toronto, 1946. A TRUE First Canadian Edition/First Printing/First State with ALL First Edition Points present!

Please remember this is the First CANADIAN Edition. This is NOT the U. This rare treasure has some very clearly visible wear/age, but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The book appears gently read and other than a previous owner signature written on the front pastedown/inside front board, has no internal writing, no internal foxing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris.

The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with a noticeable lean/slant, creases/scuffing/rips/wear to the spine/corners/boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/marks/scuffing/discoloration to the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the wear to the spine/corners/boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges and on the spine, and the wear that is present on the pages, varying in severity and particularly noticeable on certain pages. While all of the pages are present and fully attached, one can clearly see some space/separation along the top edge of the spine, the area that connects the spine to the pages. All of the wear previously mentioned is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book.

The lack of a dust jacket was also a determining factor in regards to the price. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear is very clearly visible!
